Topic: Weddings
Perhaps it would be a good idea to get into wedding jewelry & soaps... but until then, I just wanted to give shout out to my high school friend John Boyd who married one Megan Bender this past weekend! My friends and I all met up in Raleigh, NC for quite possibly the best wedding function I've ever encountered. Best wishes to the bride & groom! (And for them to continue their honeymoon without hurricane interruption!!!)
Tis all,

Topic: SoapBox, 2 year anniversary, Morgellon's Disease, Indigo Wings
Let's start with our 2 year anniversary celebration! Woohoo! We've been around for 2 solid years now, and in appreciation of our customers, are offering a 10% discount thru the end of Friday! (I realize that's tomorrow for anyone coming across the SoapBox but if you were on the e-mail list ya woulda heard about it sooner!) Just mention it in an e-mail and I'll get you set up for your purchase.
Indigo Wings - we are partnering with them, providing $10 gift certificates and business cards, as well as link exchanges from our MySpace page and our links page. Check them out on the web here or here, and if you can attend the Holistic Health Seminars in Pensacola FL on the 24th of April or certified Usui Reiki I & II Training in Prattville AL on April 26th & 27th, be sure to contact Misty Patterson for reservations and contact us to let you know you went!
And now to the name change. Well, I've decided to call it SoapBox because I just read an article about Morgellon's Disease from an e-mail list I subscribe to (thanks, Margo, for setting me up with Natural Solutions Foundation). Anyway, this particular newsletter is about GM foods & plants and how it led to that creepy Morgellon's Disease, and about how our government doesn't seem to care but other governments are wising up.
I've kept this blog pretty mild, but I'm really irritated by that e-mail and about the election so I thought I'd change this format a bit. Obviously I'll discuss Uisce, but if I need to vent, I'm gonna vent! Of course, I have SoothSayers which is really for that, but SoothSayers is on the back burner right now.
Anyway, I'm going to post some of the e-mail here:
Have you heard of the nightmare condition called Morgellon's Disease (http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/index.php?p=599)?
Victims experience unbearable sensations - all the time, day and night - of
insects crawling under their skin, burning and itching so terrible that people
have committed suicide to end the torture. To make matters worse, much, much
worse, these unfortunate people, who range in age from babies to the elderly,
have open lesions on their skin that produces sharp, thin red, black, blue
and white fibers and black sand-like grains. The fibers appear to move as
if alive and, incredibly, when placed in a Petri dish after removal, continue
to move and grow!
The origin of this horror has been unclear since it
was first named in 2001 by the mother of a 3 year old baby whose symptoms
she described and documented on a website. Since that time, thousands of people
have been identified with this condition for which the only successful cure
has been that most potent (and safe) of all antibiotics, nano silver. But
the nature of the condition, and its cause, have remained a mystery until
now.
This Plague Brought To You By BioTech
When fibers from Morgellon's Disease lesions from numerous
patients were analyzed by competent scientists, they were found to contain
DNA from BOTH a fungus and a bacterium used in the production of commercial
Genetically Modified plants and animals!
Merging organisms that have totally separate DNA and characteristics for the
sake of profit, regardless of the health or other consequences, the line between
animate and inanimate has been crossed.
And we are all paying the price.
Like the fictional Dr. Frankenstein, who transformed the non-living into a living creature which escaped his control, the biotech industry has, we fear, created a real Frankenstein's Monster: Franken Foods which are bringing new plagues on us and on the earth. The future of our planet is literally and truly at stake. That is why the Natural Solutions Foundation has taken on the task of educating decision makers about GM threats.
As our good friends and collaborators from the Ecological Options Network
(http://www.eon3.net/) have noted on their website, "To survive in the
world we have transformed, we must learn to think in a new way. As never before,
the future of each depends on the good of all." Statement of 100 Nobel
laureates on the 100th anniversary of the Nobel prize
Ugh. If you want more information you can subscribe to the e-letter yourself here: http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/index.php?page_id=187.
As Our Lady Peace would say: keeping sane in an insane world,

Topic: What have we been up to???
Well, since you asked so nicely, I'll go ahead and tell ye. I've been sick and busy with traveling & work so I haven't had too much time to exist lately. I was able to attend a Metaphysical Faire in Navarre, FL recently, though, and I got my aura photographed again. Pretty much the same as it was 6+ years ago...only difference is, my spiritual consciousness is awakening now, oooooooooh! But it's still nasty red & orange! On the mom-front, she's contemplating a Reiki I class in the nearest dearest future which makes me JEALOUS b/c I want to do that too, but it appears such will not be the case. Hissy Fit Alert: She stinks! She never signed up for classes at AIHT like she was supposed to but she can do this???
Ahem.
Uisce will be donating Peachy Keen to a friend's Relay for Life over at the high school she teaches at. We have also just donated some business cards, magnets & discounts to the Heart - to - Heart 5K/1 mile race over at a local elementary school recently. I participated in the 5K (30:49, woohoo!) and also stood with John's Golf Car Service who donated Eco-shaped Deer Park water bottles (less plastic used) for the runners. We also made a point to recycle as many of the water bottles as possible, I think we rescued about 5 cases.

Mother has been busy making some jewelry, though, unlike I who truly hasn't done much - well, I invented another soap in the This is Only a Test line of things called "Runner's Dream". I think it's pretty neat stuff myself, although I suppose I'll tweak it next time around and add more essential oil to the mix. The contrast between the sloughing off some dead skin and kelping it back to life is really neat, though.
I'll be posting Mom's two new pieces today - called Cindy's Twin and The Natural which will eventually go into our green line (which means we're probably going to need some help naming our newest line again!). I'll add the links to this page once I add the necklaces. Other than that, today is a holiday so she's making something new, I think, while I'm in the office! (BTW, she also created these for kids or for Big Kids like me.)
My birthday is in a couple of days, so wish me luck with that. Perhaps this is why I am so groany-moany right now!

I will be 29! TWENTY-NINE!
How is it I've been here is long and accomplished so little????
So keep on, readers, and remember life is what you make it. So let's make it good! We are a part of the solution, remember that.

Topic: Snow! Snow! Snow!
While I realize you northerners don't care much about snow, it is snowing here in the south today, for the SECOND time in TWO days! Incredible. We got a bunch more snow today than the other day, tho, but the problem is it already melted. However, more is supposed to move thru here and it has no choice but to stick this time, mua ha ha ha ha! IF it snows again...we shall see.
Anyway, I have decided that January is going to be my "off" month for Uisce. I'll just do some behind the scenes stuff, like get tax stuff in order, data entry, plot our future, stuff like that. Won't start creating until February again. This is just ME, tho, not sure what Mom is up to. She just got back from skiing, tho, and hurt herself again (woohoo!) so perhaps she will have much time with her hands in the near future, as she will not be able to do much else!
In other news, I got a new cell phone and it's de-lightful. Retrieving the phone for usage was not so much phun.
Happy New Year, Happy January! Stay safe, warm & happy this month.
